Cut the corset panels from coutil or heavy cotton. Apply interfacing to all panels for rigidity. Mark boning channel placement.

• —Use heavy coutil for the body panels — fashion fabric alone is not enough
• —Cut panels on the straight grain unless pattern specifies otherwise
• —Mark boning channels with a marking tool that will remain visible through sewing
